but no really, i thought it was genius.

Having known the bare minimum about the film, I figured it out within the first hour and then it took another hour and twenty minutes to wrap up. The story was not emotionally involving and I didn’t care for any character in particular. It just bored me.

 I didn’t understand why people walked out of the movie at Cannes. It wasn’t that grotesque at all. But I could certainly see if they walked out due to pace and boredom. The only movie I’ve seen this year that can get away with slow pace is Drive. Refn just set the bar too high.

Then again, we disagree about Melancholia as well.
